Nurses take care of sick and injured people. They ask patients about their symptoms, and support doctors during examination and treatment. Nurses perform essential duties in hospitals and doctor’s offices such as administering medicines, drawing blood, placing IVs, counseling family members, reading lab results, stitching wounds, and teaching patients how to follow the doctor’s orders. To become a nurse, you must complete a nursing program which includes coursework in anatomy, chemistry, nutrition, psychology, and nursing theory as well as hands-on experience with clinical training in hospitals.
