Civil Engineers

Civil Engineers have been around for thousands of years! Take the ancient pyramids or the irrigation systems in Mesopotamia for example. Civil engineers design our modern world including roads, buildings, airports, bridges, dams, and water and sewage systems. Specialties of civil engineering include structural, construction, environmental, and transportation. Many civil engineers manage projects and people, and spend most of their time at construction sites. To become a civil engineer, an undergraduate degree in engineering is required, and you’ll have to pass a licensing exam in the state in which you intend to work.
