Cool Career Connections:

We want girls+ to recognize that STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics and careers are pretty cool.  Maybe even cool enough to be part of their future plans. To help them envision these possibilities, this section provides career descriptions and profiles of women+ who are involved in these fields. These STEM professionals give answers to some basic questions students may have, such as, ”What’s a typical day like?” or  “How do I start preparing now?”  You get an inside look at each professional's job, their dreams, and their most significant learning experiences throughout their journey. Despite comprising half of the overall work force, women hold only 25% of science and engineering jobs in America’s public and private sectors.  Only 10% of all engineers are women. We need to change that.  There are so many careers anyone can pursue in science, technology, engineering, and math! From astronomy and chemistry to orthopedics and zoology, you can search a broad range of career categories to explore the exciting, and lucrative, possibilities!
